Good Samaritan Fund

Jesus invites all who are weary and burdened to come to Him. Since the Church is His body, it is our joy to come alongside our Church Family when temporary financial assistance is needed to cover essential expenses.  The Good Samaritan Fund is our benevolence resource. Such benevolence is at our core —

RELENTLESS GENEROSITY: We give extravagantly, beyond what is expected. We give because God was generous to us first. We give responsibly, cheerfully, and without guilt, championing the future forward.

THE COUNSELING SCHOLARSHIP

The Counseling Scholarship of the Good Samaritan Fund at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando exists to lower or remove the financial burden that prohibits people from seeking counseling, which is often a necessary part of discipleship as it tends especially to identity, relationships, and understanding our stories in light of truth.

What is the standard scholarship? A $75 contribution per session for 4 sessions ($300 total) with the opportunity for extension. When the counselor's rate is more than $75 per hour, you (the client) are responsible for covering the difference. In certain situations, we may be able to make a referral to a particular counseling practice that offers an additional discount if the client is unable to contribute financially.

Who is eligible for the scholarship? Covenant partners of First Presbyterian Church of Orlando are given priority to available funding. Non-covenant partners may be considered at the discretion of the committee, and those involved in the life of our church family or receiving pastoral care are encouraged to apply.
