Infant Child Care Center
Brief History:
Over
30 years ago, the ICCC grew out of the response to an increasing number
of mothers needing to return to work. Full time, quality care, in a
Christian environment, at an affordable price was desired. The former
director, William E. Alexander and the Advisory Board have been diligent
in their efforts to raise money to provide partial scholarships for
many that couldn’t otherwise afford such loving care. Today, under the
leadership of the director, Sue Pollock, the ICCC children and families
are a combination of parent pay and scholarship children and families
living, loving, working and worshipping together in the name of our Lord
Jesus Christ.
ICCC remains under the Mission Department of FPCO and under the guidance of Dr. Case Thorp.
It is the belief of the ICCC that each child is a true gift from God. We
are blessed to spend the day surrounded by their presence and
privileged to guide their development.
Hours of Operation:
Monday - Friday: 7am to 6pm
Holidays: Closed 11 major holidays
Staff:
ICCC quality staff undergo extensive background checks and fingerprint
screening, providing a clear report prior to being placed in a care
giving position. Many levels of expertise are present at the ICCC, all
are certified by the Department of Children and Families. Lead teaching
staff and many others possess CDA director’s credentials. Knowledge of
First Aide and Infant Child CPR is a requirement. Additional continuing
education hours are required yearly as well.
Ratios:
We pride ourselves on quality ratios as opposed to required ratios. Providing the best for each child is important to the ICCC.
Schedule:
Days
are a pleasant combination of indoor and outdoor activities, mostly
center/station based where children eagerly learn from each other.
Teacher direction, using Creative Curriculum, is purposefully provided
in snippets of time throughout the day. Music lessons are provided by
FPCO Musikgarten. Weekly 2s, 3s and 4s engage in Bible stories during
chapel time. Preschool children are also developing a Gospel Choir, and
additional extra-curricular computer and movement classes are offered.
