In a prayerful, faithful discernment of God's will for her future, First Presbyterian Church of Orlando voted to be dismissed from the Presbyterian Church USA in order to be received into the Evangelical Presbyterian Church by a count of 1759 to 185. Unlike a civic vote, the results of this vote do not reveal who won or who lost, but only how the congregation discerned God's leading. We joyfully embrace what has been revealed while also recognizing the pastoral needs of our entire body following this season of discernment. For those who voted in the minority, you may remain with the majority body that will move into the Evangelical Presbyterian Church or you may remain in the PCUSA. For those desiring more information on remaining in the PCUSA, a meeting will be held at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, February 1, at 7 pm. The Resolution Team of the Presbytery will lead this meeting. Thank you to all who attended the service this morning, and we ask that you continue to pray for our entire body as we move through this season of change.
