Orlando Remembered Display
1876-1999
Located in the entrance lobby of Clayton Life Center on the campus of First Presbyterian Church of Orlando
This three-panel display depicts the story of our congregation and the two city blocks which are now our church’s campus. Each of the three panels represents events of a time period in the first 123 years of the church’s history.
The display was made possible by The Heritage Committee, First Presbyterian Church of Orlando through generous memorial gifts. It was dedicated on November 18, 1999 by Dr. J. Howard Edington and is a part of the overall Orlando Remembered plan.
In developing this display, The Heritage Committee sought to both deepen the appreciation of children and youth for the church’s heritage and provide an enjoyable nostalgia for longtime Orlando residents and church members. For all, young and old, it serves as an awareness that
GOD’S MISSION is ongoing in the HEART OF THE CITY!
